Brief Description
This project entailed the development of a comprehensive master plan for water and wastewater systems in the new cities surrounding Greater Cairo, with a planning horizon to 2037. It included the collection and review of existing data and studies, and the assessment of current and future infrastructure—comprising 800 km of gravity sewers, 140 km of forcemains, 47 pump stations (3 million m³/day total capacity), and 12 wastewater treatment plants (2.6 million m³/day capacity)—through hydraulic and process analysis. The project identified priority interventions, proposed infrastructure upgrades, and included cost estimates with an annual implementation budget based on project urgency and optimal timing.
